Are you struggling to create programs with the power to transform peoples' lives? Well, get ready to roll up your sleeves bootcamp style and craft a high-quality program with the power to make a life-changing difference!

A Hands-On Workshop for Nonprofit Leaders

High-Impact Program Design is an intense, hands-on, bootcamp-style program. You get 12-weeks of learning, coaching, and WORKING that will challenge you and your team to ask and answer the right questions about your program and the people you serve.

Leave the fluff behind as you design a program characterized by excellence and real results. If providing "average service" is not an option for you, roll up your sleeves and let's get to work!

  • You'll deepen your understanding of your field and design a human services program step by step, from the ground up.
  • You'll dig below the surface of your vision and do the work needed to create the kind of program a grantmaker wants to fund.
  • You'll learn how to choose the right business model and program structure to get results.

You'll work through these elements to build your program from the ground up:

  • The Foundation, which includes a look at your target participants, your industry or topic area (runaway youth, disabled vets...), what's missing, and the role your program will play,
  • The Puzzle Pieces, where you'll identify all the elements of your intended program,
  • The Method, which examines the logic behind your program and helps you map your program from participant intake to "graduation,"
  • The Cost, which considers both program costs and the timing of cash flow,
  • The Requirements, which looks at potential rules or regulations like licensing, zoning, and insurance, and finally
  • The Program Description, which helps you translate your work into a compelling description that you can use to attract support.

  • This is a 12-week learning and coaching program. You'll get one or more new video-based lessons each week, which you'll watch inside the online "classroom" in the Nonprofit Startup Lab.
  • You'll have 24/7 access to the classroom so that you can learn on your own schedule.
  • Downloadable materials help you follow the video lessons and provide resources to help you take action on what you've learned.
  • You'll be invited to join a weekly online group coaching session where your instructor will answer questions and offer feedback.
  • You'll also have access to one-on-one coaching at least twice during the course to help you stay on track or get "unstuck".
  • This program requires a significant amount of homework. The more you know about your industry, the less homework you'll have. The quality of your final program design will depend upon the quality of each participant's work in the program.
  • You'll receive new lessons during each of the first 6 weeks, and you can spend the final two completing your project with support from your instructor.

  • The ideal student will have a few years' experience in the topic your nonprofit deals with, such as homelessness, foster care youth, or anti-hunger. Previous students have suggested that it's not a good fit for those unfamiliar with your industry.
  • You should be comfortable with online searches, since you'll be asked to answer questions that may require online research.
  • You should be willing and able to devote at least 3 hours each week to lessons and assignments, understanding that the time will vary based on your program.

  • A reliable email address.
  • A basic understanding of the internet, such as how to do web searches and navigate websites.
  • A computer or smart phone with reliable Internet access to watch the video lessons, download program materials, and participate in audio- and video-based coaching sessions.
  • The ability to print downloadable materials.

  • To register, click one of the big Enroll Me buttons on this page. (If enrollment is closed, click the button to request program updates.)
  • You'll have the option of paying in full or making two payments. Each option takes you through a slightly different process.
  • Whichever payment option you choose, you'll be taken to a registration page and asked to create an account with your email address and a password. You'll use these each time you log into the Nonprofit Startup Lab.
  • After you register, a page will open. It wil tell you how to access the online classroom and what you should do next. You'll also get an email reminder about how to access your course a day or two before it begins.
  • Tuition is a one-time payment of $129. Use Pay Pal or Credit Card. (We never see your personal financial information.)

This course is for those who are serious about learning and taking action. There's no shortcut. So if you're not ready for lessons, research, drafting write-ups, and participating in group and individual coaching sessions, this program is not for you. Still, if you enroll, we want you to be happy with your decision.

So if you enroll, start to do the work, and find that this program is just the wrong fit for you, you can request a full no-questions-asked refund if you request it according to our Terms of Service. You'll have an opprtunity to read the policy durning the enrollment process, and you can also read it in our Terms of Service HERE.
